Controlling her Pleasure is an immensely hot erotic short from Lili Valente’s fantastic new series Under his Command. And when I say hot, I mean positively scorching! Ms. Valente will capture your attention very quickly in just a few pages as she introduces you to Blake and Erin and will definitely remain in possession of it until the turn of the final page.
Blake is a very talented tattoo artist and thanks to a reality show has managed to attain great success with a national chain of tattoo parlors. But despite his business success, relationships have always been a different story ever since he had his heart shattered by the one woman who had ever been able to capture it. Erin has always been hurt by men. So when Blake, the only man she ever really loved, suddenly comes back into her life radiating an aura of dominance and need for control which mesmerizes her, Erin struggles with her deep desire to give in to him. But will her fears of knowing the true reason why Blake has returned give her the strength to remain in control or will Erin lose herself to the connection and passion which reignites between them and inflames her inner desires?
Simply using one word to describe Controlling her Pleasure: WOW! This is an amazingly hot and passionate short story which gives us just a taste of Lili Valente's new series and definitely leaves us wanting more. The intense connection between these two characters is electrifying and sizzling which will leave the reader in certain need of a tall glass of ice water by the time they reach the end. Controlling her Pleasure will "control" you (as it did me) page after page leaving you with great anticipation for what lies ahead for Blake and Erin.

Beware - barely an introduction before everything just cuts off.

I am so sick of this, this does not end on a cliffhanger like the description says, this just cuts off in what is basically the middle of the beginning. I understand trilogies, I like box sets, and I even enjoy serials. But what I hate is something being listed as a "book" that is nothing but a teaser designed to get you to keep buying. If I like the first book in a series I will happily pay for the next, and the next. Heck, I'll even pay for the first one if the description catches my attention. But I want a whole book/story for my money, and I'm not talking about length/page count.
It's a shame, too, because this author actually has some talent. The writing was good, the d/s elements tastefully done, and the sex was hot. What I hate is that this raised a lot of questions without any answers. I've read several short stories, novellas, and serial installments - each one with the full story arch and leading into the next.
I know I'm not the only reader frustrated with this latest trend and with so many talent authors out there I will keep looking for ones who understand what readers want.

Under Blake's Command...And Loving It!

You'll need an extra set of panties and a fan as you read Controlling Her Pleasure, the first book in the Under His Command series by Lili Valente, a new voice in erotic romance. This book is a novella, but, believe me, it is NOT short on the sizzle. The spark between tattoo artist and Dom Blake Roberts and Erin 'Angel' Simmons practically leaps off the page. When these two are together, whether as teens exploring their first love, or, later, as two halves of a very sexy whole, the heat is absolutely palpable.
Controlling Her Pleasure is a great introduction to this new series, and had me from the first page. Blake is full of smolder, all man, and not afraid to show it. And Erin, for all of her sass and bravado, is more than happy to find herself under his spell. Their chemistry had me speeding through this read, and I cannot wait for the next book to see what comes next in their adventure.
I've happily added Lili to my list of hot authors, and give this book 5+ steamy sexy stars.
